Class of 1931 holds reunion, awards prizes The high school Class of 1931 held the 30th anniversary re-union at the Social Center in Spanish Fork Saturday even-ing, with 30 members and their partners attending. A dinner and visiting with each class member taking time to tell about his or her life since graduation days, made for delightful entertain-ment. To Glenn Tipton went the prize for maintaining the smallest (?) waistline; to Roe Thorn for the least hair; Helen W. Wiscombe, the most grandchildren; to Eva H. Al-lan of Mesquite, Nev., for tra-veling the fartherest; to Lu-cille H. Harmon, for the most accomplishments with her fam-ily of ten sons and daughters, having come second in a re-cent contest for the most out-standing in the state; to Reed Averett for the least changed. Named to arrange for an-other reunion in 1966, were: Reed Averett, Glenn Tipton, Leona Wilson, Wanda S. Peay and Maurine F. Mortensen. The dinner tables were un-iquely decorated with red and the high school col-ors of red and blue with tiny dolls dressed in cap and gown and holding diplomas center-ing the table on which were also arranged place cards featuring red devils holding blue flags with a red "S" and a picture of the class member forming the red devil face at the time of graduation. Springville man chooses Idaho girl for nuptial vows July 8 Mr. and Mrs. Lewis B. Diamond announce the forth-coming marriage of their son, Verl K. Diamond, to Joan Leslie Henderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Glen Hen-derson of Rexburg, Idaho. The marriage will be solemnized in the bride's home in Rexburg July 8 and a reception will be held in the Fourth Ward church following the ceremony. Mr. Diamond is a graduate of Utah State University, having graduated this spring with a bachelor of science in agriculture. He is a graduate of Springville High School. Miss Henderson also attended USU and is a gradu-ate of the Rexburg High School and attended Ricks College. The groom-to-b- e will enroll with the U.S. Air Force following their marriage. FHA officer to attend St. Louis meet Mary Jane Bird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird, elected state secretary of the Future Homemakers of Am-erica at a convention in Salt Lake City. before the close of school, will leave Sunday to attend the national convention in St. Louis, the week of the Fourth of July. She will be accompanied by Mrs. Ardis Killpack, high school home making instructor. They will make the trip east by plane and return by train being gone a week. ' i - . A i ... K ; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ericksen now at home in Spanish Fork following recent wedding and reception. She is the former Miss Janet Bona. Miss Janet Bona is married to Richard Erickson, Spanish Fork corsages were pink carnations. At the guest register were Mrs. Barbara Brereton and Mrs. Sharon Bagley. Mrs. Ar-vi- le Child, Mrs. Patsy Flygare, Diane Boyer, Marie Carnesec-c- a and Johana Perrero were in the gift room. Serving throughout the even-ing were: Lois Ericksen, Judy Bianchard, Barbara Bird, Mary Jane Bird and Gloria Peter-son. A pretty wedding cake with pink roses and bells was the central figure of an attractive pink and white de-corative theme. The young couple spent a few days wedding trip to Bryce Canyon and other points in Southern Utah and are now making a home in Spanish Fork. Attractive in every detail was the wedding and recep-tion for the new Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ericksen held June 9, at Maple Valley Inn. Officiat-ing at the marriage ceremony was Bishop Clyde Lowe of Spanish Fork. The bride, formerly Miss Janet Bona, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bona of Mapleton and the groom's par-ents are Mr. and Mrs. Bus Erickson of Spanish Fork. For her wedding attire, the lovely young bride chose a beautiful embroidered organ-za with scalloped neckline, fit-ted bodice and short scallop-ed sleeves. Her floor-lengt- h skirt was of tiers and she wore long white gloves. A veil of sheerest illusion was ar-ranged to a delicate crown of seed-pear- ls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white stephan-oti- s centered with a large pink camelia. Her attendants were Linda Child, Rowena Erickson, Patty Whitney, Dianna Alleman and Judy Bona with Linda and Shauna Bona, junior brides-maids. They wore pink dresses with pink and white accessor-ies and their flowers were white mums and daisies. Jim Brereton stood as best man to the bridegroom. Others in the receiving line were parents of the couple, Mrs. Bona, choosing a pink sheath with white accessories and Mrs. Ericksen, biege sheath with brown accessories. Their Mutual groups , plan calendar To gain new activity ideas v to share them with other members of the Springville Stake, M Men and Gleaners participated in a workshop in Salt Lake City during the re-.e- nt June Conference. The profitable hours of discussion ; and lecture were put to good ' use by the group when they returned home as they calend-ared their activities for the coming year. The first in a series of act-ivities planned is a swimming party at Park Ro-Sh- e, at 8 p.m. Friday. Regular weekly activities are fireside classes ""'Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. in the home of an M Man or Gleaner. Weldon Thacker is in-structor for these sessions. Johnson family reunion Descendants of Aaron and Lorenzo Johnson, pioneers to Springville, will meet in a family reunion Saturday, July 1 at the Springville City Park beginning at 2 p.m. D. LaRell Johnson is president of the or-ganization with Cora Lee John-son, reunion chairman. Grant Clyde will act as master of ceremonies. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. followed by a program and visiting. Family displays will be exhibited in the city council room of the city build-ing during the reunion.
