Show Devi's tuck away togs sans any title Springville's Red Devils tucked away their basketball togs for another year after having played the Provo champs here last night. The Devils, exhibiting outstanding team spirit and ball hustling throughout the year, were unable un-able to cope with most of the taller clubs of the region and coupled with lack of height was the lack of consistently good outside long shot artists to give them the needed scoring scor-ing punch. However, this year's team was not without its star performances. Grant Palfrey-man, Palfrey-man, good both defensively and offensively; Jimmie Simkins, who came up with some stellar play; Jan Felix, strong man of the squad who teamed well and exhibited much fighting spirit along with Ted Murray, who dunked them from all over the court when he had his "on" night, Paul Cherrington, heady scrapper and David Whiting and Leland Bird have all had their "moments" and will be leaving the team via graduation. Bright hope of the coming seasons is Steven Strong, consistently good player play-er who is only a Junior. Strong has scored well and is the "tall" man of the club. Devils 48 Lions 71 Last Friday night the Pay-son Pay-son Lions showed no sympathy toward the Red Devils as they opened ur the e'ame with a vengeance and stormed thru to an overwhelming 71-48 vic-torq. vic-torq. Felix and Strong for the Devils were the only two scorers scor-ers hitting in the double figures fig-ures both getting 15 each. Payson held a 14-4 first quarter quar-ter lead which the Devils did narrow to 3 at halftime, 32-29, but a 20 point third quarter spree by Payson sent the Devils Dev-ils reeling and they never quite recovered.
