Show Parley Perry to be honored at open house Relatives, neighbors and friends are invited to join Parley Par-ley Perry, well-known Maple-ton Maple-ton resident, at an Open House Sunday from 2 until 5 p.m., at his home in celebration of his 85th birthday. A native of Springville, Mr. Perry has lived more than 60 years at Mapleton. He has always taken a special spe-cial pride in his home and yard and since his retirement some 15 years ago, has spent much time with his garden. He lives alone at the family home and keeps busy with lighter work and preparing his meals. Active in civic and LDS church work throughout his earlier life, he has served on the Mapleton town board and on the school board. He has been president of the YMMIA and ' of the Elders Quorum as well as a counselor in the MIA and Sunday School superintendent. su-perintendent. A greater por- -tion of his life has been spent farming and he was also a salesman at one time. His wife Ardilla whom he married in the Salt Lake Temple Tem-ple September 8, 1897 passed away in November 1958. Assisting with the birthday Open House plans are members mem-bers of his family which comprises com-prises three sons and two daughters: James S- Perry of Salt Lake City; Lewis L. and Bernell Perry of Provo; Mrs. A. M. Rudolph of Burley, Ida., and Mrs. Burt Taylor of Springville. There are also 17 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and Mr. Perry also has an older brother, Horace Hor-ace Perry, 87. |
