Show Men graduate from boot camp Melvin L. Hamblin, son of M. and Mrs. Harold W. Humphries Humph-ries of 615 S. Eecond E., and Victor L. Quamberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Webb of 189 S. Tenth E., both of Springville, Spring-ville, graduated from recruit training Oct. 21 at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. The graduation exercises, marking the end of nine weeks of "boot camp," included a full dress parade and review before military officials and civilian dignitaries- In nine weeks of instruction, the "raw recruit" is developed into a Navy Bluejacket .ready for duty with the fleet. The president of the U.S. may be the most powerful man in the world, but his wife can't redecorate her home without the . approval of. Congress. It requires an act of Congress to change any feature of the state rooms, which are used for public pub-lic affairs, in the White House. The only bachelor president of the U. S., was James Buchanan. |
