Show Halloween theme for Mapleton parties, socials during week MIA organizations of the two Mapleton Wards sponsored Halloween parties in their vvards Monday and Tuesday evening- Dancing, games and refreshments were featured. Bert Whiting has been released re-leased from the Spanish Fork Hospital and is recovering at the home of his son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Niel Whiting. Mrs. Zina Dibble entertained the members of her quilting club at her home last Wednesday, Wednes-day, where luncheon was served serv-ed to fourteen members. She was assisted by her daughters, Mrs. LaRie Warren and Mrs. Welby Warren and by a granddaughter grand-daughter Mary Dibble. Here for the deer hunting season were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Black (LaRae) of Southern California. While here they are guests at . the homes of her sisters Mrs. Joy Hibbert and Mrs. Glenn Seal and families. The Needle Craft club will hold their next meeting at the home of Mrs. Inez Harmer on November 10. Mrs. Blanch Tew has been released from the Utah Valley Hospital and is convalescing at home. Mrs. Iris Dibble entertained the members of the Sierra Bon-ita Bon-ita Club at her home Friday night where the guests arrived in costume and masks. Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Curtis have received word of the birth of a new grandson born to Owen and Faye Quarnberg on October 21 at San Diego Navy Hospital. Visitors during the week at the Charles Whiting home, have been Mrs. Ardith Jensen and her small son Steven of Blackfoot, Idaho. She is here on account of the serious illness ill-ness of her father. Weekend visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Everett has been their daughter, Mrs- Scott ceeds of which will go to the school library. All citizens are invited to cooperate with them in this worthy plan. The Mapleton ward Relief Society will hold a bazaar on November 11. Supper will be sold commencing at six o'clock and continue during the evening. even-ing. A choice variety of aprons, ap-rons, rugs, quilts and other needle work will be sold as well as pastry and baked goods. Evereyone is urged to patronize patron-ize this worthy cause. On Sunday evening, November Novem-ber 6, the Relief Society of both wards will hold the annual an-nual conference, the Mapleton Second ward commencing at 5;30 o'clock and the Mapleton ward at 7 o'clock. A fine program pro-gram has been arranged for each .ward. On November 29, the extra Tuesday in the month, the Mapleton ward will present Christmas Ideas. All members are invited to come and bring new suggestions for Christmas gifts and exchange them at this meeting. Mr. & Mrs. David Allan and young daughter spent five days at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Allan. David came home for the deer hunt. They have been making their home in Boulder, Colorado. Camp Mapleton DUP held their October meeting at the home of Mrs. Eva Bird. Mrs. Alice Johnson gave the lesson and also read a letter written by the late Aarin Johnson. Music Mu-sic was furnished by Mrs. Norma Cox. Luncheon was served to twenty one guests by the hostess assisted by Mrs. Martha Houtz and Mrs. Ida Whiting. Dr. and Mrs- Eugene Robertson Robert-son of Cody, Wyo., spent several sev-eral days in Mapleton and Springville visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Robertson. Mrs. Robertson (Barbara) remained here while Dr. Robertson went to San Francisco to attend a convention. conven-tion. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin A. Niel-son Niel-son enjoyed a visit from her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Christensen of Farmington, New Mexico a few days last week.
