These young ladies won the honor of representing rep-resenting the Little League Ball teams in the interesting miniature parade staged in Mapleton on Pioneer Day, by writing essays on the history of Mapleton. Judges for the contest were Mayor Welby Warren, Waldo Jacobson, principal of the Mapleton School and Mrs. Er-ma Er-ma Hjorth. Mr. and Mrs. Irel Barrus of Pittsburgh, California and their three daughters. Delayne, Patricia Pa-tricia and Leslie are spending a week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whiting. They have also been entertained at the homes of their sisters and families Mrs Helen Wiscombe and Mrs. Wil ma Cloward Also spending the holidays with the Whitings was their daughter, Mrs. Carma Anderson Ander-son of Orem. Mr. and Mrs. L. Dean Perkins Per-kins entertained the members of his family at a picnic bar-beque bar-beque at their home Sunday afternoon. Their guests included includ-ed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Perkins, his brothers Harold, Odell and Vaughn Perkins Per-kins and their families, all of Kaysville and his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Funk and family of Ogden. at the present time and have been doing research work in Salt Lake City during the past few weeks. While here they visited vi-sited with Parley, Horace and Dave Perry and with the Dave Fullmer family. They also attended at-tended the Wm. P. Fullmer family reunion held in Salt Lake City last week. Mr. and Mrs. Blair Binks and children John, Barbara and David spent Pioneer Day at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norris T. Binks. Other visitors at the Binks home that day were- Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron (Buss) Williams are home after an extended trip to Colorado and Kansas where they visited with relatives and friends. While in Denver they were guests at the home of her brother bro-ther and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Parley Madsen and visited visit-ed with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Madsen and family in Over-' land Park, Kansas. While in Kansas they enjoyed the Church tour to Independence, Mo., where they enjoyed the church history attractions there among them being Liberty Jail, Hawns Mill, Far West and Adam on Diamon. Prior to their trip the Williams Wil-liams entertained her two brothers bro-thers and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Madsen of j Washington D. C. and Mr. and Mrs. Aonald E. Madsen and - three children of Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gren are enjoying a visit from their grandson David Gren from Oklahoma. Ok-lahoma. Mrs. Mabel Hopla in company com-pany with her son Harold and wife of Vernal have recently returned from a delightful trip to Northern and Southern California. Cali-fornia. While there they visited the Dell Hopla family in Los Angeles and with Mrs. Ida Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Strong and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rowley (Myrl) who all live in Long Beach. On the way home they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jones and family at Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Robertson Ro-bertson have recently enjoyed a visit with their son Glen and his wife Vera who visited here from their home in Visalia, Calif. They were here ten days. The former Christie Perry & her husband Fred Parker of Berkley, California were Mapleton Map-leton visitors during the past week, Christie and her husband are fulfilling a temple mission to the Mesa, Arizona Temple |
