History nearly repeated itself when sulphuric acid cars were derailed on the D&RG railroad tracks, the accident being compared com-pared to the one in 1956, when over a million dollars damage resulted from oil tanks toppling toppl-ing on the same tracks. Proposed Cuts The controversy over the proposed cut of grazing permits per-mits to local cattlemen resulted result-ed in several stories submitted on both sides of the question by cattlemen and the forest service officials. During the year 1959, the city elected three new council-men, council-men, Calvin Packard, Frank Memory and R. L. Wilson to take the place of retiring coun-cilmen coun-cilmen Harold Whiting, Grant Nielson and Bert Strong. Taking all events into consideration, con-sideration, the year was found to be a comparatively good one for the city and most of its citizens. |
