Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark have received word that their grandson, Larry Taylor is taking tak-ing his six months army training train-ing at Fort Ord, Calif. Miss Ellen Carter of Las Angeles An-geles has returned to her home after spending the past six weeks at the Eldon L. Reese home. Other recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs Reese have been: Mr. and Mrs. David Allman and four children, chil-dren, Mrs. Fay Allman and seven children, Mr. and Mrs. David Johnson and daughter, all of San Diego, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Allman and five children of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Reese and two children of Heber City, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Johnson of Salt Lake and William Hunter of Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Coker and family returned Monday from an enjoyable vacation to Colorado Springs and Durango, Colo., where they visited relatives. rela-tives. They were gone about ten days. The Cokers reside at 210 East First South St. A group of former school friends got together to talk over old times and renew friendships at a canyon picnic at Balsam aPrk Saturday including: in-cluding: Mrs. Alwena Brereton of this city; Mrs. Mary Thompson Thomp-son of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Ella Sole, Mrs. Erma Finlay-son Finlay-son and Mrs. Lillian Beadows of Salem. Mrs. Janice C Higbee and three children returned Tuesday Tues-day to their home in Winne- here the latter part of the month. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Bonspur are home from a most enjoyable enjoy-able trip back to Mrs. Bon-spur's Bon-spur's home town of Blairs-ville, Blairs-ville, Pa. They went especially to atend the golden wedding of Mrs. Bonspur's oldest sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Long, and while there they renewed re-newed many friendships and visited a number of relatives. They also spent some time with another sister, Mrs. Edna Burfield and familp in Union-town, Union-town, Pa. They were gone about two weeks and while they enjoyed most delightful weather in the east, they said they were glad to get back to Springville and its good water. Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy were in Ft. Green recently to attend the centennial and home-coming celebration and they also visited relatives and renewed acquaintances. During the celebration the old-time Ft. Green Wool Band of which Mr. Hardy was a member, was honored hon-ored at a special program. mucca, Nev., after spending two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark and visiting other relatives and friends. Mr. and BIrs. Wesley Kunkel (Luella Huntington) and three boys of Conogo Park, Calif., are spending a two weeks vacation va-cation in Springville with Lu-ella's Lu-ella's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Huntington and also al-so with other relatives in Salt Lake City including Mr. and Mrs. Carl Poulsen and in Og-den Og-den with Mr. and Mrs. EIRay Fehr. E. Wayne Reese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Reese, left last week for Fort Belvoir, Va., after a five-day furlough on completion of his basic training train-ing in the National Guard at Fort Ord, Calif. He expects to be in Virginia for the next four months. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Chader accompanied by their daughters daugh-ters Jo and June (Mrs. Robert Greer of Ogden) have returned home from a ten days vacation trip to California, the Northwest North-west and Montana. They traveled trav-eled to San Francisco, where they visited Mrs. Chader's mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Belle Hecker and a brother, W. E. Crane and family fam-ily an then to Oregon and Washington. At Butte, Montana, Mon-tana, they also visited a daughter daugh-ter and sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Tipton (Bernice Chader) and family. Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland Row-land enjoyed a visit recently with their two sons and families fami-lies in California. They traveled by plane to Garden Grove, where they spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rowland Row-land and family. Ted is a druggist drug-gist there. At Lakewood, near Long Beach, they visited Lawrence Law-rence Rowland, who is employed employ-ed with the Union Oil, and his wife, the former Enid Pennington Penning-ton of Springville and daughters. daugh-ters. They were gone nearly three weeks and at Los Angeles, Angel-es, visited many places of interest in-terest a highlight of which was the Colesseum where they saw the Dodgers and Cubs play. Mrs. Wm. Hill (Zora Man-waring) Man-waring) is spending a month in Utah from her home in Mesa, Ariz. While in Springville, she will visit her sisters Maurine Manwaring and Mrs. Lloyd Ashcraft and family and her brothers, Zenos and Maurice; also Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Man-waring Man-waring and family. She will also al-so visit a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Witney here and with two sons, Clyde and Blaine Hill and families in Salt Lake. Mr. Hill hopes to join his wife |
