Mr. Kenneth Westwood is home from Medford, Oregon where he is in business with his brother. He is here to help his family move to Oregon where they plan to make their home A nephew, Lynn Westwood accompanied ac-companied Mr. Westwood to Mapleton. The Westwood's have sold their lovely home to Mr and Mrs. Lee Shipley of Lynn-dpl Lynn-dpl who plan to make their home here. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Whiting accompanied by their daughter Ruth spent a day in Salt Lake iCty where they visited vi-sited Lynn Anderson who has been in the St. Marks hospital for the past three weeks. He has now left the hospital and is recovering at home in Vernal. Ver-nal. Mrs. Connie Perkins of Salt Lake City spent Tuesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Warren last week. Her young son Scotty will stay and spend a week with his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Poulson and their family have left for an extended visit to Canada where they will visit with relatives. re-latives. Young Bobby Frandsen is home after visiting at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Casper and their daughter Lynda in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Nielson have recently returned from an interesting trip to Sanford, Colorado where they visited several relatives and friends. They enjoyed the homecoming at Sanford on the 24th of July which was the highlight of their trip. They stopped at Grenwood Springs on the way home. Several teachers and officers in the Mapleton ward have been released at the last ward business meeting. Mrs. Bernita Hurst has been released as a teacher in the Junior Sunday School; Aldean Cazier, as secretary sec-retary of the Junior Sunday School and Lucille Wing as secretary of the Senior Sundaj School. New officers who have been set apart for new offices are Mary Taylor as secretary of the Junior Sunday School; and Joan Brown as teacher in that department. Martin Palmer Pal-mer and Darrell Warren are chosen as teachers in the Senior Sen-ior Sunday School. Mr. and Mrs. Blair Binks and his family of Bountiful were weekend visitors in Mapleton. Mapleton Memorial Park was the scene of a delightful picnic supper party Friday evening when several new families were honored guests. It was sponsored spon-sored by the young married folk of the Mapleton Second ward under the chairmanship of Gloria and Lowell Lyman, in the form of a get acquainted party. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Far-ral Far-ral Ogilvie were new members welcomed into the ward. Guests included twenty-five young couple. House guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mackenzie Macken-zie for several weeks are Mr. and Mrs. James O. Cooper and children, Michael, Paul and Katherine of Phoenix, Arizona. The Mapleton Jaycee Wives all went for a bicycle ride Monday night. Refreshments were served at the home of Ne-ola Ne-ola Steiner prior to their leaving leav-ing and also at the home of Joan Richmond along the way, winding up with water melon on Memorial Park. Color captain cap-tain Marie Barney was chairman chair-man of arrangements and was helped by Joan Richmond and Neola Steiner. Nine members participated in the fun. |
