Binkj Phone HUntor 9-5875 Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hanson and three children of Burley, Idaho spent the Thanksgiving holidays at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hanson. Other guests were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd and family of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hopla and daughter Linda Kaye of Vernal spent the holidays at the home of his mother Mrs. Mabel Hopla. Also visiting with her was her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jones and their two daughters, Karen Lee and Janeane of Las Vegas. Mrs. Jones is the former for-mer Margene Hopla. The Paul Willis family have moved to Springville to make their home. Mrs. Cora Clegg of Mapleton was hostess to the members of the Ladies Literary Club at the Social Center in Spanish Fork Saturday afternoon which was attended by two special guests, Mrs. Mildred Reams and Mrs. Nancy Seeley and fifteen club members. Mrs. Reams enter- ite recipe baked which will be sold to raise funds to finance the organization. All members are asked to participate. The William Jackson home was the scene of a delightful family dinner Thanksgiving Day. Among their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Wall of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bry-an Webb and family of Magna, and David Scott of Hawthorne, Calif., a nephew of Mi-. Jackson's Jack-son's who is a student at the BYU. tamed the group with pictures of New Mexico, the Peace Gardens Gar-dens in Salt Lake City and Glen Canyon Dam area. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. Mrs. Naomi Parkins is enjoying en-joying a visit from her son Smc. Bill Pulsipher, who is home on a thirty day leave from the Navy. He has been stationed in the Pacific Ocean area' with the West Park and his new assignment is at Bremerton, Bre-merton, Wash., naval base. Open house was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Davidson in honor of their son Warren who has left for an LDS mission to Northern Mexico. Coming from out of town were Ted Bohn of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Al Hoff-pauir. Hoff-pauir. The Young Marrieds of the Mapleton Second ward enjoyed a social Saturday in the ward recreation hall. The tables were beautifully decorated with cornicopia. Supper was followed follow-ed by competitive games in which prizes went to Mrs. John Sencer Jr., Frank Taylor and Mrs. John Westwood. Planning the party were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Ogilvie, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Headman and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Reiske. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Beesley are visiting with their son Wayne and family in southern California for several weeks, j Mr. and Mrs. Reid M. Hales entertained the members of the Birthday Club at their home where Mr. Hales was the honored guest. A delicious hot supper was served to the following, fol-lowing, Mr. and Mrs. William Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Wentz, Miss Helen Reynolds, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wyman and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Soren-sen. Soren-sen. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Hooper Hoop-er entertained several relatives at dinner during the holidays. Their guests included Mr. and Mrs. Earl Haymond. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Haymond and four children all of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Killpack and five children and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Kogianes and son of Provo. Julia Ann Cloward who has been employed at Las Vegas spent the holidays at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arland Cloward. Sid Headman spent the week end at home and returned to his job in Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cox enjoyed en-joyed a visit from son Ted and wife of Ogden and their daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Verl Farnsworth and fam-il fam-il also of Ogden who spent the week end. with them. Kathleen Bennett, was named nam-ed the Student of the Week at the Springville high school. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bennett and also takes an active part in her church activities. The Relief Society Bazaar of the Mapleton Second ward held last week was a huge success. suc-cess. Supper was sold commencing commen-cing at 5:30. Prior to that the bazaar was opened to the children chil-dren at noon for the sale of pop corn balls and candy. Hand made articles and baked goods were sold during the evening. Chairman of the affair were Mrs. Helen Wiscombe, Mrs. Virginia Hall and Mrs. Hattie Burt. Week end visitors at the home of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Warren were Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Fullmer of Logan. The Mapleton ward Relief Society are planning a Christmas Christ-mas party for Tuesday, Dec. 15 commencing at ten o'clock where a fine program will be presented followed by luncheon and a bake sale. Each member, mem-ber, is asked to bring a favor- |
