Show 'i Cowbelles Sponsor Well-Attended Banquet Over a hundred people were in attendance at the Spring-ville Spring-ville Cowbelle sponsored banquet ban-quet Saturday evening at the Westside School. Mrs. Ralph Phillips, president, presi-dent, welcomed the group including in-cluding Cowbelles and their partners and special guests and introduced Hugh Colton of Vernal, Ver-nal, president of the Utah Cat-, Cat-, tlemen's Association, as the guest speaker. Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Spaf-ford Spaf-ford of Springville, president of the State Cowbelles, also spoke briefly. Winner of the painting given to raise funds for the art, was announced as Mark B. Bring-hurst. Bring-hurst. Also the Cowbelles introduced introduc-ed Verl Whiting as the man selected from Springville as "All-American Father of the Year". They reported that Mr. Whiting's qualifications will be compared with those of other candidates for state honors. He responded with a short talk during the dinner. Other entertainment for the evening included dances by Brenda Bird and Shirley Jac-obsen Jac-obsen and vocal and instrumental instrumen-tal selections by the Shepherd children. |
