Mr. and Mrs. Waldon Hurst and their son Craig and their , Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holley accompanied their daughter-in-law Wanda and her two children to California Friday where they plan to make their home. Their son Dr. Robert Holley arrived from Alabama Sunday where he has been taking tak-ing dental training preparatory to entering the service as a dentist, and left Monday for Beal Air Force Base in California Cali-fornia where he will be com- Nuys, Calif. The new baby has one brother and one sister. Paternal Pa-ternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oberhanley of Spasnish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lee in Logan. Monday the Johnsons were visited by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wal-ter Selck of Salmon, Idaho. The Selcks were enroute to Mexico for a vacation trip. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gren have been their son Charles Gren and wife and family of Tooele. Everett Bennett was in charge of the Mapleton Second ward senior Aaronic priesthood priest-hood group social Friday in the church recreation hall. Pot luck supper was served and a fine program enjoyed. Ralph Gren was honored at a dinner dance given by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Rail-road Old Timers' Club Thursday Thurs-day evening at the Elks Lodge in Salt Lake City. . He was presented with a thirty two year pin upon retiring. re-tiring. Mrs. Gren was also presented pre-sented with a corsage and a floral centerpiece used on one of the tables. Accompanying them were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wernz of Provo. Mapleton Second ward held a monthly Cub Pack meeting at the church where Weblo badges were received by Larry Holdaway and Dennis Everett. adopted Indian son Willard Dalton accompanied by her mother, Mrs. John Busk were in Elsinore over the weekend where they attended the wedding wed-ding of a nephew. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Burt of Logan spent the weekend visiting vi-siting at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Waldon Hurst and Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Burt. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Menden-hall Menden-hall are enjoying a visit from Jesse Everett resigned as Cub Scout leader after serving several years. '' Young Laurie Ann Felix has returned to her home in Kearns after spending several weeks with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeGraw. their daughter Janice (Mrs. Loyal Hastings) and her four children of Clovis, New Mexico who will be with them for several sev-eral weeks while her husband is on a field trip with the Air Force. Sunday visitors in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clements Cle-ments were her sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth and their family. Frank A. Bleggi, airman, U. S.N., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bleggi of Rt. 1, departed de-parted from Alameda, Calif., earlier this month aboard the "super" carrier USS Ranger for a tour of duty with the U.S. Seventh Fleet irr the Far East. Herbie Miner is convalescfng at home after treatment in a Juab hospital for injuries received re-ceived in an automobile accident acci-dent early in January. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Miner. Mrs. Marie Hone and her family of Payson were visitors at the home of her mother, Mrs. Florence Stone one ' day last week. i - Pot luck lunch and quilting were enjoyed at the home of :.Irs. Sid Headman recently where her guests included Mrs. Ross Reiske, Mrs. John Davies, Mrs. Floyd Tuttle, Mrs. John Spencer, Mrs. Duane Rowberry, Mrs. Patty Willis and Mrs. Paul Jensen. Charles Whiting was honored on his seventy third birthday by the ' members of his family. Refreshments and social chat were , enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs Joseph Wiscombe and Mr. and Mrs. Arland Cloward of Mapleton, Maple-ton, Mr. and Mrs. Don Blanch-ard Blanch-ard of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Anderson of Orem and the honored guest and his wife. Mrs. Clinton Young entertained enter-tained the members of hei sewing club at her home last week. The time was spent in quilting. Refreshments were served to Annie Gividen, Bird Nielson, Ethel Jensen, Bessie Thorn, Zina Dibble, Florence Stone, Gladys Johnson and Gladys Parry. Mrs. Douglas Jensen and her sister Joan Hall accompanied accompan-ied Douglas Jensen from Fort Benning, Ga. to New York, where he embarked for overseas over-seas duty with the U. S. Army. They will return to the home of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hall early in February. Mrs. LaVerl Young was hon- ored on her birthday by the members of her family Saturday Satur-day night. Visiting and luncheon lunch-eon ,were enjoyed. Mrs. Zina Dibble was hostess hos-tess to her sewing club Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week. A beautiful beau-tiful appliqued quilt was made. A tasty lunch was served to Marva Whiting, Jennie Tew, Ethel Jensen, Gladys Parry, Florence Stone and Laverl Young. Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Jensen were in Liberty Sunday when their twin grandchildren, Jeri-lyn Jeri-lyn and James Bruce, children of Mr. and Mrs. Don Clark were blessed. Mrs. Clark is the former Ruth Ann Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Beck of Ogden spent last week as guests at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Gividen; Givi-den; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parry and their family of Layton spent the weekend at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Parry. Mr. and Mrs. John Parry accompanied ac-companied by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Whitney of Springville and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Durrant of Spanish Fork, attended a wedding wed-ding for a nephew in Price Friday Fri-day evening. A social afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs. Gladys Parry Monday afternoon by the members of her sewing club and two special guests, Blanch Tew and Marva- Whiting. The time was spent in quilting followed fol-lowed by a delicious lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Palfrey-man Palfrey-man were Sunday dinner guests at the home, of Mr. and Mrs. Glade Binks. They were present pre-sent when their grand daughter daugh-ter Debra Ann was blessed. Mr. and Mrs. S. Lavell Bird have received word of the arrival ar-rival of a new grand son born January 29 to their daughter Melva, Dean (Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oberhansley) of Van |
