Relatives Attend Wedding Rites In Murray Friday Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy were in Murray Friday even-ing, to attend the wedding re-ception for their granddaugh-ter, Miss DeAnn Johnson, daughter of Richard E. and Joyce Hardy Johnson, who was married to Lynn D. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman C. Davis also of Murray. The reception was a lovely event carried out in red and white. The bride wore a Chan-till- y lace and tulle gown with veil arranged to a tierra of seed-iear- ls and sequins. Her bouquet was of red roses and white acrnations. An aunt and former resident of Springville, Mrs. Ruth Har-dy Flygare- was matron of honor wearing a red lace gown while the bridesmaids all of Murray, were in red satin sheaths with nose-ga- y bou-quets of red and white carna-tions. The young couple will make their home in Murray. Attending the reception from Springville also were an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hardy. YJewS Hote5 . . Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee have returned home from a delight-ful two-wee- k vacation trip to California accompanied by Mr. Lee's brother, Bill Lee, of Span-ish Fork and his wife. They visited in Oakland and San Francisco and then traveled to Los Angeles. Here they toured Marineland and numerous other places of interest in the area. At San Jacinto, they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald T,pp and at Yucaipa they visited Mr. and Mrs. Horace Manwar-- ing and family. 'Mr. and Mrs. Alvin BeardaU enjoyed a visit from their son Ra Beardall and wife and two daughters Julie and Sharon Les of Santa Rosa, Calif., who vis-ited other relatives and friends here and in Payson and Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn 'Webb have returned from Los An-geles, Calif., where they went to see their little granddaugh-ter, Debbie Wilson through a heart operation. The little girl is the daughter of Ross and Beula Rae Webb Wilson. The Webbs were accompanied to California by the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Carol Wil- - son of Payson. Les Jolli Femme Group Plans Valentine Party j Les Join Femme Club mem-bers are planning to entertain .their husbands at a Valentine tarty on Wednesday, Feb. 11, the place to be announced. Mrs. Joan Sumsion, Mrs. Diane Newton and Mrs. Phyllis Clyde constitute the committee in charge. r The ladies met with Mrs. Clyde at their last meeting at which Mrs. Winona Killpack was and enjoyed a program on the life of the mu-sic composer Frans Schubert. Taking part on the program were Mrs. Maurice Bird at the piano, Mrs. Lewis Bird with the violin and Mrs. Orvil Clark in vocal selections. i1 Mrs. Gordon Hamilton Bridge Club Hostess Departing somewhat from the conventional, members of the "Come As You Are" Bridge group were at the home of Mrs. Gordon Hamilton Wednesday evening of last week for a "dif-ferent" party. The come-as-you-a- attire included under-bleache- d sweat-ers, work-knee- d tredors, pinned down-the-fro- nt shirts, draw-string pants, and a dainty or-chid flannel duster. A party ar-riving from Las Vegas ahead of time sported a new red and white corduroy suit. Bridge came secondary to a discussion of proper diets, chil-dren and husbands in which each member participated. Lunch was served from a tin pie plate centerpiece of spam and crackers. Next party was planned for Feb. 11. 'i Cowbelles Sponsor Well-Attend- Banquet Over a hundred people were in attendance at the Spring-vill- e Cowbelle sponsored ban-quet Saturday evening at the Westside School. Mrs. Ralph Phillips, presi-dent, welcomed the group in-cluding Cowbelles and their partners and special guests and introduced Hugh Colton of Ver-nal, president of the Utah Cat-- , tlemen's Association, as the guest speaker. Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Spaf-for- d of Springville, president of the State Cowbelles, also spoke briefly. Winner of the painting given to raise funds for the art, was announced as Mark B. Bring-hurs- t. Also the Cowbelles introduc-ed Verl Whiting as the man selected from Springville as Father of the Year". They reported that Mr. Whiting's qualifications will be compared with those of other candidates for state honors. He responded with a short talk during the dinner. Other entertainment for the evening included dances by Brenda Bird and Shirley Jac-obse- n and vocal and instrumen-tal selections by the Shepherd children. 77 ! Gordon of Lark-ispu- r, Calif., near San Fran-- i Cisco, is spending a month in Springville, the house guest of her mother, Mrs. Catherine D. Eva Lue Burrows Sets Wedding Date March 20 With V Man Lovely Miss Eva Lue Burrows, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Burrows of this city, has set the date of her wedding to Gary Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving J. Nielson of Lynndyl, Utah. The ceremony is to take place in the Manti Temple March 20. Miss Burrows, a graduate of Springville High School and the LDS Seminary, is presently employed in. secretarial work in Salt Lake City.' Mr. Nielson graduated from Delta High School and is presently enrolled as a senior at the University of Utah. Spafford of Springville, president of the state Cowbelles presided at a meeting of state officials at an Orem cafe Friday afternoon where projects for the year and beef promotion plans were .outlined. Mrs. Ralph Phillips, presi-dent of the Springville organi-zation, gave her report along with other executive officers of the state and Mrs. Spafford re-ported on" the recent national convention at Omaha.
