Bonnie Damico and Susan Friel were presented meat thermometers for meal prepar-ation, the award being made by Hilda Stewart of the Wool Growers and Fern Ercanbrack, vice president of the Board of Directors of USU. Carol Greenhalgh and Kay Frandsen were presented red leather wallets for meal pre-paration by Helen Spafford, president of the Utah State Cowbelles. Club members awarded for completion of their projects included: first year, 73; sec-ond, 22; third, 17; fourth, one; fifth, nine and five for first year work. Mrs. Elsie Greenhalgh, whose record of ten consecutive years as a 4-- H leader and supervisor was awarded a Gold Clover Pin. Ten-Ye- ar Service Award Goes to 4-- H Club Leader Over 125 awards were made to Springville and Mapleton 4-- H club members at the an-nual Achievement program at the Junior High School Thurs-day evening of last week. Topping the list of awards was a Gold Clover pin pre-sented to Mrs. Elsie Green-halgh, Brookside, in recogni-tion of ten consecutive years service as leader and super-visor of 4-- H club work in the Springville area. Janet Miller received a 4th year pin; Janet Miller, a medal for a home economics project and Diane Clyde a style revue pin. Representing the First Se- - Former Resident To Be Honored On 75th Birthday Springville relatives and friends are invited to an Open House Saturday, Nov. 7, hon-oring Albert Leon (Lynn) Mi-ner, a former resident of this city on the occasion of his 75th birthday. The party is being held at his home, 3019 South 9150 West in Magna from 2 until 8 p.m. No gifts are requested. Mr. Miner was born in this city November 5, 1884, a son of Bert and Sylvia Johnson Miner. He lived here until he married Lottie Noble, April 19, 1911, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died in December 1954. He has five sons and daugh-ters: Leon Ross Miner, Mt. View, Calif.; Mrs.. John P. (Gwenevere) Hickman, Mrs. Carl (Berniece) Kohler, La-Ve- rn G. Miner, all of Magna; Verl R. Miner, San Diego, Cali-fornia; 13 grandchildren. He has a sister, Mrs. Thora Dalley and a brother, Grant Miner both of Springville.
