Steven Wiscombe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wiscombe is sponsored by the Mapleton Jay-cees, Jay-cees, to attend Boys State at the Utah State University July 4 to 11. He is a senior at the Springville High School. Dale Ford of Anaheim, Calif, is a visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Court. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Whiting of Whittier, Calif, are spending the summer months at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whiting. Gary is attending Summer School at the BYU. Accompanied by their leader Mrs. John Westwood the following fol-lowing members of the Guide Patrol enjoyed an outing at Maple Dell: Ricky Whiting, Kelly Johnson, Steven Wright, Jon Harding, Wynn Everett, Ernest Perkins, Myron Bennett, Gary Ogilvie, Glen Johnson, Russell Lee and Niel Bennett. Class leader Erwin Curtis also j accompanied them. be served tonight in the Mapleton Maple-ton ward from six to eight o'clock. Families are urged to come in groups or singly any time during these hours, bringing bring-ing their own dishes. Wm. B. Frost, father of Mrs. Hannah Binks of Mapleton died of a heart attack Sunday after bearing his testimony in fast meeting in the First ward in Spanish Fork. Services will be held for him today in that ward at one o'clock. Coming from California for the services are Mrs. Berniece Douglas and Mrs. Lavon Tal-madge. Tal-madge. They will be guests at the home of their mother. c Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Jensen . and family of Avondale, Ariz. 1 are visiting relatives and friends in Mapleton and Price. While here they are house ; guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen. A house guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Carly and family is Carol Bertiglio of San Francisco. She was an attendant at-tendant at the wedding reception recep-tion of Wilma Fullmer and Duane Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hall and I son Stephen are home after spending several days visiting relatives in Southern California. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Mackenzie Macken-zie have recently returned from a combined business and plea- sure trip to Los Angeles, Calif. I They toured the canyons of Southern Utah on their return trip. The home of Karen Goble was the meeting place for the Eight Jolley Chefs 4-H club last week. Christy Harris was in charge. Eileen Hjorth gave a demonstration on sandwich making. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gabbitas and family have moved to Provo to make their home. New residents in Mapleton are Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Jones and family of Spanish Fork, who have moved into the Jen- nie Tew home. Mrs. Lyle Palmer and son Bruce accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Chamberlain are home after spending a week at Albany, Oregon where they visited vi-sited with Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Behrman. Mrs. Palmer and Mr. Behrman are sister and brother. broth-er. Going with them was Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Potter. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen left Monday for an extended visit with relatives and friends in Texas. They stopped in Arizona Ari-zona to call on Louie Charles, an Indian boy who lived with them this winter. In Texas they will be house guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. ! Floyd Cryer who live in Buna. They plan to be gone three weeks. A ward budget supper will |
