Show Minor Routine Business Takes Time Of Council at Monday Night Meet Routine business took up the time at the city council meeting Monday evening at which Mayor J. Emmett Bird presided with Council- men Blaine Clyde, Ernest A. Strong, Harold Whiting, and Ruel E. Crandall, Attorney Robert Ro-bert J. Sumsion and Recorder Lloyd Ashcraft in attendance. Louis Schardine, president of the Pony League, asked permission per-mission of the council to hold a play-off tournament in Springville on tentative dates of July 31 and August 1. He said the winners were to go to the district tournament in Price. The council approved his plans provided they could be worked out with George Pehr-son, Pehr-son, city recreation director. Approval was also granted for concessions for two days. The council further approved holding the District Tournament Tourna-ment in Springville next year or the year following. A preliminary plan for development de-velopment west of Kellys Grove was submitted to the council by Robert Frazier and Kenneth Long, to be checked by Engineer Engin-eer John Neff for his recommendations recom-mendations to serve the area with culinary water. Councilmen Ruel Crandall and Grant Nielson were instructed in-structed to investigate claims made by Leonard Taylor and Jesse Barker that their irrigation irri-gation water had been affected by the drain which had been, installed in the Bel Air subdivision. Mays Anderson; attended the meeting regarding annexation to the city of property on the East Bench. He inquired concerning con-cerning availability of the sewer sew-er and was told that it would be available. He was asked to contact other property owners involved. Howard Thorpe reported that he would like to go ahead with graveling of the road east and west in the Town View sub-division and it was approved by the council. Attorney Robert Sumsion presented a resolution authorizing authoriz-ing the mayor to sign a deed to Beulah Whiting to clear title on property being sold on Second Sec-ond North and the resolution was adopted. |
