Rosecrans sustained several lacerations on his head and his lungs were partially filled with water when he dived and etruck his head on the bottom of the pool. When first taken to the hospital, Rosecrans was not considered in a serious condition. The odor of denatured alcohol alco-hol or wood alcohol was detected on his breath, according to the hospital attendant. at-tendant. The cause of his death is thought by the attending physician to have- been the weakening of his heart by the use of alcohol and the water taken into his lungs while floating unconscious in tho 'pool. Rosecrans was a former soldier and came to Salt Lako from Berkeley four months ago. |
