Robbing. 45 years of age, of Santaquin. Utah, who for the past three months has been conducting mips ion meetings in th.e Interest of the L.. D. i?. church in this city, died in a Salem hospital today, according ac-cording to the police, from the efets of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the breast. Stnce coining to this city he had boarded and roomed at 13 V'aliner street, here the shooting occurred. Chief of Police Michael JooIey, following follow-ing an investigation, learned that the missionary had a wife and child in Santaquin. San-taquin. Of late he had been despondent. This forenoon Robbing received a letter let-ter which, it is said, caused him to have a prolonged fit of weeping. Later he left the house and, going to a near-by hardware store, purchased a shotgun and shells. Returning, he went at once to the bathroom, bath-room, where he shot himself. He was immediately hurried to the hospital, where every effort was made to save his life, without success, ile died about three hours later. Thomas B. Robblns was born Februarv 22. 1895. and left for the mission field September IT. 1919. He was the eon of William C. and Betsey Taylor Robbins of Santaquin. |
