Show DUGOUT POST, V. F. W., PASSES A RESOLUTION FAVORING NEUTRALITY James Latimer, state commander com-mander of the Veteran of Foreign For-eign Wars; Harold Sleater, national na-tional council member; and Wayne Corbis, junior vice commander, com-mander, attended a meeting of Dugout post No. 3521, V.F.W., at the City hall' Friday evening. Election of officers was announced an-nounced as follows: Commander, H. K. Brown; vice commander, Willard Jensen; quartermaster, Alfred Henkel; adjutant, Albert Dunn. A resolution framed and passed unanimously is aimed at keeping United States a neutral nation. Mr. Brown, in discussing the resolution said, "Regardless of how we feel toward United States getting into war, in conversations con-versations people are urged to refrain from expressing the opinion opin-ion that the United States must eventually become involved. "The idea of the resolution is to encourage the public to make an intelligent effort to counteract counter-act war talk. The Veterans of Foreign Wars know by experi- ence what war means and are strongly in favor of remaining neutral." The three state officers present pres-ent talked on "Neutrality" and "For the Good of the Order". It was announced that meetings will be regularly held the last Friday of each month in the City hall. The quartermaster's books were audited and found in good condition. A Dutch lunch was enjoyed at a cafe later. |
