Show COMPOUND BOUGHT AS LARD AT GROCERY When Preston A. Martineau, deputy state dairy and food inspector, went to a Salt Lake grocery he said he asked for a pound of lard. What he received, on being analyze! by Herman Harms, state chemist, "proved to be not lard, but a lard compound in which cottonseed oil und beef fai were prudent. ;lr. Hnrms reported to Walter M. l'.oyden, suite dairy and food commissioner yetrday, that he had not passed the sample, un account! of its being a uompcund, "aUhouyh it was soid as pure lard. Mr. Harms ported on nine samples of lard tti id rL-ius-.-d to pass but one. Three samples ot lard compound, sold as such, wure also passed by the state chemist. |
