Show GOODS RECOVERED FOLLOWING ARREST With the arrest yesterday of George Johnson, colored, more than $1000 worth of jewelry and clothing was recovered and returned to Mrs. Jesie Fearman, colored, living at ISO Hawthorne avenue. Mrs. Pearman discovered the lotis of the articles about 8 o'clock Wednesday evening. She notified the police. Investigation Inves-tigation was conducted by Motorcycle Patrolman Charles Jorgensen. who said in his opinion the theft appeared to be tiio work of some one familiar with the Fearman household. This suggested to the mind of Mrs. Pearman the idea that Johnson had taken the t hings and when she found him at a ball Christmas morning she turner him over to the police. po-lice. A cigaret ca so belonging to Mr. Fearman was found in Johnson's pocket and later the entire loot was found in a room of an acquaintance of Johnson to whom it had been entrusted without the contents of the bundle being made known to him. Johnson is being held in the city jail ; pending a charge of burglary to which j Mrs. Pearman will swear today, accord- I . ing to the police. |
