The campaign for higher pay for the ! teachers of tlie Granite school district i ended victoriously yesterday for the teachers when the district voted to issue $50,000 in bonds for "an increase In salaries and in order to maintain and support sup-port generally the schools of the district for the current year." Interest in tlie election had been keen, not only in the Granite district, but ! throughout the state, in view of the gen-j gen-j eral movement under way to secure bet-! bet-! ter compensation for members of the 1 teaching profession. The vote in favor of the bonds was better than two to one, ' the final count of the votes showing 3$1 for the bonds and 154 opposed to the proposed pro-posed issue. .
