Show DRY DOCK DEDICATED, WAR CRAFT LAUNCHED liREMFRTON, Wash., Dec. 16. A shipbuilding ship-building drydock 950 feet long, said to.be tho largest of its kind in the world, was dedicated at the Paget Sound navy yard here today when Mrs, Luther E. Gregory, in the presence of army and navy officials offi-cials and representatives from Puget Sound cities, opened, a valve that let the I water Into the dock for the first time. Two new ammunition ships, the U. S. 1 R. Tyro and the U. S. S. Nitro, built In the dock, were formally "launched" when the water entered and floated them. Bottles Bot-tles of mineral water were broken over their bows as they started to float. Two target rafts were launched at the same tlmo. |
