Freshmen 0 3 .uuo In two one-sided basketball games at the East high school, tne senior first and second teams defeated both freshman fives yesterday. . These were the lirst games won by the seniors during the i series. They displayed hotter team work yesterday than ever before. The scores for the first and second team games were 26 to 13 and 21 to 5, respectively. 1 Most of the senior scoring came at the first part of the second half, when they added fourteen points to the twelve previously previ-ously secured. During the latter part of the period the freshmen improved in their pitching. Stephens played his usual brilliant game,, tallying twelve poi-nts for the seniors, while Papworth, senior center, threw four field goals and succeeded in two free tries. In the game between the second teams of the classes, the seniors completely outclassed out-classed the freshmen. They took the lead by caging five field goals, and before the greenlings were able to score. McEnany threw the first freshman basket Just before be-fore the end of the first half. Russell repeated a moment later. The half ended 14 to 4 in favor of the upper classmen. In the last part of the game the seniors made many substitutions, but their scoring scor-ing kept up as steadily as in the lirst half. Elllcott did most of the basket shooting for the seniors. He caged six field goals. The work of Buckby arid Murdock was also good. The decisive game of the class series will be played this afternoon between the sophomores and juniors.
