Clark, head of the safety department of the Oregon Short Line and tho L03 Angeles & Salt La he railroads. Because passenger trains operate more smoothly than those made up of freight cars, autoiTiobilistg underestimate their speed. Mr. Clark said. Of the eight redeems red-eems on the Oregon Short Line and. the one on the Salt Lake & Los Angeles railroad rail-road during November, six are attributed to this cause, he said.
