Show GAME LAW VIOLATED BY BRIGHAM HUNTERS Special to Tbe Tribune. BRIGHAM CITY. Nov. Deputy Game Commissioner James Cottam reports re-ports that In the open season for deer this year hunters have killed a total of : twenty-eight, as near as he can learn from different parts of Boxeider county. Nearly all tho deer were killed in the mountains near Brlgham City, and, according ac-cording to hunters, they are numerous. Some violations of the law had been anticipated, and some of the violations have been uncovered, although the guilty 1 persons have not been arrested. Tn one instance Commissioner Cottam says that he found two deer heads in Perry canyon which had been severed in order to cover fdentitv. Two young men are reported to have killed two fawn and were bringing them to town, when other hunters warned them that they could be prosecuted. They Immediately threw the carcasses into the brush. They were under the impression that as long as the deer were bucks it wa lawful to kill them. The law specifies yearling bucks or Older. |
