Show BALTIC STATES PLANNING Hi Conference Discusses Terms of Armistice With Bolsheviks, By ARTHUR E. MANN. (Chicago Tribune Cable, Copyright) REVAL, Nov. 10, via London, Nov. 11. The conference of representatives of the Baltic states, began at Dorpat yesterday. yes-terday. The delegates are discussing further fur-ther details of the formation of some sort of a Baltic faction and are expected to draw up details of armistice terms to be submitted to the Bolshevikl in the near future. According to allied information, and agreeing with reports in Latvia, the terms will be very drastic, and allied officers of-ficers here declare they will insure the safety of the Yudenitch northwest army. Meanwhile the Bolshevik troops continue con-tinue to advance. They are now approaching ap-proaching Yamburg, which is only sixteen six-teen miles from Yudenitch's base and headquarters at Narva. There is considerable consid-erable doubt if the white Russians will be able to hold the former town. Between Be-tween there and Narva there is no place where Yudenitch could make a good stand. Loss of Yamburg also w.ould be serious, as it Is full of hospitals and now is holding hold-ing thousands of wounded whom it would be difficult to transport to Narva, even if accommodation could be found for all of them at the latter place. Lettish troops, supported by the guna of British destroyers, started an offensive offen-sive from the mouth of the Dwina river yesterday westward up the coast and captured cap-tured the village of Dubbeln. This firmly firm-ly secures their right flank. The British destroyer Libau shot down a German aeroplane on November 6. On I the same day German troops from Preckuln began to advance toward Libau, but the Letts, under cover of the firo of British ships, repulsed them. The Germans across the river from Riga have been bombarding that city again. They have severely damaged one side of the British mission and yesterday dropped a shell on the roof. Since the Lettish attack began the American Red Cross has been busy with ambulance calls. Before Friedrichstadt thirty-two Russians Rus-sians with two machine guns surrendered to the Letts and volunteered in the Yudenitch army. |
