Show CITY COMMISSION HOLDS BUSY SESSION Special to The Tribune. PROVO, Nov. U. At the meotlng of the board of city commissioners thly morning, the ballots at the munlclpa' election were canvaFKCil and showed the following results: Tor mayor, Le Uoy Dixon (re-elected). 1239; for mayor, E. A. Mitchell, 319; for commissioner, George T. Billings, 9T4: Charles Hopkins, 1084; for auditor. Alice Brown (Incumbent), 774; Ruth Peay Farrer, 1200. The candidates candi-dates receiving the highest number of votes were declared elected. The sum of S9S5 was appropriated to the Harris Trust & Savings bank of Chicago, Chi-cago, as fiscal agents in the sale of $1G0,-000 $1G0,-000 waterworks and street improvement bonds. The sum of $24.30 was appropriated to the Salt Lake & Utah Railroad company for the purchase of a mileage book. A petition was presented from David John and other property owners on Third South street, between Academy avenue and Seventh East street, asking that the street be paved. The petition was filed. Cltv Engineer C. C. Swan made a report on paving district No. 6, showing the total cost to be 553. 375.2(1, Uiebalar.ee due the contractor being $31,754.61. The cltv treasurer presented a report showing $3253.21 to have been received during the past month. |
