Show FORD IS UPHELD BY LIEUTENANT MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich., June 2. Lieutenant James A. Connors testified today at the opening of the fourth week of Henry Ford's J J.000,000 libel suit against the Chicago Trioune that tie had been told by Frank L. The Tribune editorial of June lit 16, was based in part on a news dispatch from Pel roit dated June L'I, to the effect ef-fect that the Ford Motor company would not hold positions open, care for dependents depen-dents nor pay salaries of employees who followed the colors to the Rio Grande. Asked by Attorney "Weymouth Kirk-land. Kirk-land. representing the defendant, if he put the name of the Ford Motor company among the names of other firms placard ed on the wall of the Petroit armory aa having pledged themselves to reinstate employees who enlisted and the care of their dependents, Connors admitted that he had not. |
