Show i READ "THE WEB." By authority of the national directors of the American Protective League, The Tribune is now printing in its Sunday magazine section, "The Web," a story of absorbing interest written by Emerson Emer-son Hough. The American Protective League was organized with tho approval ap-proval and operated under the direction of the United States department of justice, jus-tice, bureau of investigation. It was a vast silent volunteer army, with members all over the United States. It was effective in the highest degree in combating Germart propaganda and foiling many Hun plots. Emerson Hough tells the story in a comprehensive comprehen-sive manner, and it should be read by all Americans who desire to become fully acquainted with the danger in which the government was placed after declaring war upon Germany. The attention at-tention of Tribune readers is especially directed to "The Web." |
