Douglas White, well known railroad niau, and Miss Marion Authony Byrne of San Francisco were married yesterday yester-day at the state capitol. The ceremony was performed by State Supreme Court Justice S. K. Thurman, and was witnessed by Joel L. Priest of Boise, general agent for the Oregon Short Liuc in Idaho, and Mrs. Priest, and Mr. aud Mrs. Lawrence S. Mariger of Salt Lake. All four arc close friends of Mr. and Mrs. White. Before leaving on their honeymoon trip in the Canadian Rockies, the couple gave a dinner at the Hotel Utah last night at which Mr. and Mrs. Priest and Mr. and Mrs. Mariger were guests. Mr. and Mrs. White will spend about three weeks in Canada before making their home in Los Angeles. Since the opening of its lines Mr. White has been an official of the Salt Lake Route, with headquarters at Los Angeles. He has been in charge of the agricultural development work of tho Pacific district, agricultural section, sec-tion, United States railroad administration, administra-tion, since the federal operation of railways. His jurisdiction includes California, Cal-ifornia, Oregon, Utah, Idaho and Nevada. Ne-vada. Mrs. White has made an excellent reputation as a descriptive writer and as a compiler of literature bearing upon development work and in tlie editing of household and victory garden syndicate matter for the United States railroad administration. |
