Id a game replete re-plete with good pitching and clean ball playing play-ing by both clubs, Burley defeated Rupert by a score of 7 to 5. The feature of the game was a home run by Crane of Burley, with two on, in the sixth inning. Burley got in the lead by making three counters in the third inning, when Clark was safe on McClay's boot of his hot grounder. Jarvis was 6a fc on an attempted sacrifice,, which went for a hit. Mclvor advanced both with a sacrifice, Sweifel to Blanchard. Corlz connected for a double, scoring Clark and Jar-Yip, Jar-Yip, and counted on Kerns's infield out and McKenna's boot of Crane's grounder. Crane tried a delayed steal, but was out, Marshall to Blanchard to Shandliug, retiring the side. In the sixth Burley put the game away when Cortz walked, and advanced to third when McClay booted Kerns's hit, and both scored when Crane lifted one over the left field fence for a homer. Ruegg got past McClay Mc-Clay for a .single, was advanced to second by Perkins's sacrifice aud scored on Adolf's single over second. Clark was thrown out at ! first by Sweifel and Jarvis retired the side j by striking out. Rupert scored two in the fourth. McClay i was out, Ruegg to Crane. Hayes walked. 1 handling filed out to Cortz. but Marshall singled, advancing Hayes to third, from whore lit,- scored when Clark scrambled Evans's 1 grounder. i Marshall came in with n counter when Kerns lot Blanc-hard's hot grounder get away from him. Johnson retired the side by the S. O. route. I u the seventh Rupert staged a dangerous lool-Sng rally when Johnson, Sweifel and Ansel, bitting for McKenna, got a single each, filling the bases, with none out. McClay took three swings. Hayes was out, Clark to Crane, Johnson John-son scoring on the play. Sweifel and Ansel then came in .on Shanrlling's single. Marshall retired the side, grounding to Clark, who threw him out at first.
