Show SAYS UK HDBBEDSTORE Los Angeles Jeweler Identifies Iden-tifies Utah Slayer as Hold-up Man. 4 Special to The Tribune. LOS ANGELES, Cal., March 12. Subjected Sub-jected to the scrutiny of one of his alleged al-leged victims prior to appearing before Justice Forbes for preliminary hearing today, Abe Majors, pardoned slayer from the Utah penitentiary, was positively identified as having" participated in one of the most spectacular holdups ever staged in Ios Angeles. The identification was made by H. A. Vincent, a jeweler, whose store is at Vermont avenue ana Twenty-fourth street, the scene of the robbery. According to Vincent, he was in his place of business on the afternoon of January 2S, when an automobile with a veiled woman at the wheel stopped in front of the store and Majors alighted, leaving his pal, Leon Soulard, with the woman in the car. Entering the store, Majors, he says, presented a watch, asking ask-ing if initials in the back of the case could he removed. While they discussed the matter Soulard entered and held up both of them. Vincent resisted, whereupon, lie says. Majors joined forces with Soulard and robbed Vincent of $S5 in cash and $1000 worth of jewelry, both escaping in the car driven by the mysterious mys-terious woman. Vincent also identified Soulard. No trace of the woman has been found, but, through Soulard and Majors, the police hope to apprehend her. Numerous other burglaries are charged against Soulard and Majors. Soulard already al-ready has confessed to numerous robberies rob-beries participated in by Majors and himself. |
