Show JAMES ROBINSON, Montreal business busi-ness man, v.xo is in Salt Lake, j visiting his sister. Il j CANADIANS FAVOR LEAGHNAT1S Would Include It in Peace Proceedings, Says Montreal Mon-treal Manufacturer. ""Canadian public opinion is heartily indorsing in-dorsing the project for a league of nations and is anxious to see it incorporated into the peace proceedings now before the supreme su-preme council at Paris," is the word brought to Salt Lake by James Robinson, Robin-son, manufacturer and leader in civic affairs af-fairs of Montreal, who is visiting his sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Geofge K. Smith, at 919 East First South street. Mr. Robinson expressed his conviction that the constitution of the league of nations na-tions as presented will be adopted with but few amendments, if any. Canada, he said, has seen enough of war to desire most earnestly a covenant among nations that will prevent a- recurrence re-currence of the- war just ended, which cost the dominion such a frightful toll of its youth. Business in Canada is looking forward to an era of prosperity, said Mr. Robinson, Robin-son, who added that lie expects an extraordinary ex-traordinary growth of commercial activity ac-tivity to begin within a very short time. Building has not yet started on any large scale, but it is shortly anticipated by the business men of Canada, according to Mr. ' Robinson, that large industrial projects will be put under way, both by the government gov-ernment and by private capital. Demobilization has been progressing very well in Canada, said Mr. Robinson. The only dissatisfaction with the return of the Canadian soldiers to. civil life has been due to conditions since remedied. The problem of unemployment has not been serious In the north, because of plans perfected for the returning of soldiers sol-diers to farms and because of the opening open-ing of various enterprises brought to a standstill for the duration of the war. Mr. Robinson served for several years as a Conservative alderman of Montreal. He will stay in Salt Lake for only a few days. |
