Show at the trade and with his berth on the ' Oakland club. Already tho railbirrts have tht-ir lamps on two of the newcomers. ' Pallas Locker, first sacker, seems to show j a lot of class and is bearing out the i Rood thing's that have been said about ; him. ' Hap Morse, inflelder, from the ship-1 ship-1 builders' league, up in the nonhwest, is another iad who looks good in a ba.se-: ba.se-: ball uniform. j It's early as yet, of course, to be picking pick-ing men for the various jobs, Howard : admits he Is of a mind to train Jack Uoehe up as a first sa.cker. j Kid Wares is beins groomed for sec-1 sec-1 nnd, with Hap Morse a strong possibility. Pod Murphy will captain the team from i third base, while Bill Stumpf is slated I for short. ELLIOTT MAY AGAIN MANAGE THE ACORNS Tt will occasion no surprise If Rowdy Elliott lands the. job as manager of the Oaks aerain, with Del Howard acting- as" secretary. Not rig-ht away, perhaps; maybe may-be not this year; but he is believed to he in line for the job. Del Howard still owns a lot of stock in the club and he is still the manager and may remain so this year, but it is believed that the prospect of the ' job as manager was dandled before Rowdy's eyes when he so suddenly decided to go back to the Oaks. It is a srood thins for the league that the Oaks are to have a real ball club this year, and, if the Seals land a good catcher, catch-er, there will be no hard feelings over Spencer going to Salt Lake and Elliott to Oakland. It is fine to have them both back again, even if they will be playing against the' Seals. A couple more- deals like the Elliott affair af-fair and the Oaks will merit some serious attention.
