Show i M'CREDIE'S BAND IS RAPIDLY INCREASING BEAVERS' TRAINING CAMP, Crock-;;; Crock-;;; . ctt. Cal., March IS. The roster of Portland Port-land players in training here was today ,; augmented by the arrival of Frank Fui- ; 'j ler, shortstop; "Royal" Blue, first base-. base-. man; Tom Lukanovlc, pitcner, and Dick , i Cox,' utility. Sam Lewis, the big right- honder from Dallas, arrived last night. , i .! Fuller -waded right into the good will of 1 Manager McCredie, who ff.vs ,le is a 1 ringer for Johnny Evers, former Bootun Brave second sucker. And Fuller would have an awful time trying to convince old man Viereck that he was not Evers. if Viereck had a bill to collect. Fuller is almost the same height ss Evers and i handles himself like a big leaguer, out on tho field. He did not loosen much to- i day, but what little we saw of him leads is to believe that Detroit eld the Port- j land team a favor by sending out Fuller. Fuller has been with Detroit for the last l three years, and wishes the opportunity of becoming a regular on the Portland team. . ' Blue, who is a husky-looking lad, : played first base for St. Paul last year. He has alt the earmarks of a good ball ! player and remarked last night that he has been anxious to come to the Pacific coast ever since he first broke into pro-1 pro-1 fcsslonal baseball. Blue is a left-handed ' guardian of the initial cushion. |
