Show SWEDISH PREMIER OUTLINES OPINION ON LEAGUE PLANS I i STOCKHOLM, Monday. March 17. In announcing Sweden's acceptance of the invitation extended to her and other neutral neu-tral nations l.o attend a conference in Paris on the subject of the league of nations, na-tions, Premier Eden said today that the government had confided Swedish repre--, sentation to a committee which had long studied the question, which would act in conjunction with the Swedish ministers minis-ters in Paris and London. "Naturally," the premier said, "this procedure in itself cannot satisfy the neutral powers. We maintain unconditionally uncondi-tionally the demand to be permitted to take part in the actual, full, official deliberations de-liberations of this world problem before we shall find ourselves able to decide upon our own attitude. "Obviously the league will not become a real league, able to perform its tremendously tre-mendously difficult task, unless it is 'made universal and is built on the principle prin-ciple of full justice for all its members. We can only present certain important views at the present stage of the proceedings pro-ceedings and -have not neglected tne opportunity op-portunity to do so and this initial courtesy cour-tesy from the peace conference to the neutrals, favoring the. unconditional rights of 'neutrals, seems to me to be prophetic of new and more decisive concessions which finally " will place this difficult problem on the only correct foundation all free nations uniting for right and peace." |
