Show URGE IMPORTANCE OF -PURCHASING STAMPS Stirring Addresses Made in Ogden by J. M. Collins and "Parson" Simpkin. Special to The Tribune OGDEX, June 8. James W. Collins, chairman for the state of the war savings sav-ings stamp campaign, and the Eev. P. A. Simpkin of Salt Lake a drossed the committee for Weber county and Ogden City upon the campaign being carried on in this city. The speakers urged the drive be rushed through to conclusion conclu-sion next week so that the committees will be able to roport that the entire JS4S,680 worth of stamps have been disposed of in that time. Chairman Frank M. Driggs of the county committee reported that all the material, cards and pledges had been distributed and the committees for the several districts of the city and county were ready to begin their house-to-house canvass Monday morning. He said that it was calculated to have the people of the city and county buy the same amount of war savings stamps as they did of Liberty bonds, except those who purchased more than $1000 in bonds. The limited amount of stamps anv one person can buy is $1000. It was reported that the county and city together have purchased about $(30,-000 $(30,-000 in stamps, leaving less than $S00,-000 $S00,-000 to be disposed of by the local committees. |
