A pleasing and patriotic pa-triotic social event of the week was the dance given by the Woman's club Hed Cross unit in the Tooele opera house Monday evening, the proceeds to be used for Red Cross and the gauze room. The hall was pret tily decorated in the national na-tional and Red Cross colors. A novel feature to help swell the funds was the "kangaroo" court. With County Attorney Attor-ney L. E. Kramer and City Attorney W. S. Marks acting as the judges, many members present pleaded guilty to charges preferred against them by the Judges and were liberated on the payment of a fine. The ladies of the Maccabees presided at the punch booth. The affair af-fair proved to be a success and a goodly sum was realized from the affair. About 100 couples enjoyed the affair. Miss Blanche Walters entertained at her home Wednesday evening in compliment compli-ment to her brother. Malcolm Walters, who departed during the week for t he Uintah country, where he will spend the summer months. The hostess was assisted assist-ed in entertaining hy her mother, Airs. Alvin Walters, Miss Ruth Walters and Miss Ruby McLains.
