Show CZECHOSLOVAKS VICTORS IN FIGHT ON ITALIAN FRONT ROME. Sept. 22. The official communication communi-cation issued today dealing with operations opera-tions in the mountain front of the northern north-ern Italian theater, follows: "South of Nago yesterday, after violent artillery - preparation, mainly with gas shells, two enemv columns attacked the salient of Point 703 at Djssalte. the first column pressing forward fron tally and the second endeavoring to unhinge the base of the salient with an encircling movement. "The gallant troops of the Sixth Czecho-Slovak division, who were holding the position, defended themselves with admirable valor, and the encircling attack at-tack was crushed and repulsed by machine ma-chine gunners. The other hostile column, col-umn, having carried a small advanced post, gained a foothold on Point 703, but immediately was driven back in bitter hand-to-hand fighting, with heavy losses. "We recaptured the outpost in the afternoon. "We also destroyed an enemy outpost on the northern slopes of Monte Tomba, taking prisoners." |
