For many years Seattle baseball fans have been hoping for a club in the Coast league, but that, hope is no longer In evidence. As a result of the possibility of Portland returning to the league, followers of the game in the northwest are looking forward for-ward lo a tight little Northwestorn league next spring, with six clubs In the circuit. It has always been the belief of D. E. Dugdale the most prominent man In the Northwestern league, that Seattle and Portland should string together. Dug has cast longing eves toward the Coast organization or-ganization ever since the Portland club ioinfd that circuit. However, since Port-find Port-find Is (scheduled to return to the Northwestern North-western circuit, tlie chances are good for a circuit which will leave a little profit to the owners after the railroad expenses have been paid. The Seattle magnate is pretty well satisfied with things as thev are. , If Portland is not bounced by the Coast mogul, It will give a different angle to the situation, and Seattle baseball men may make an effort to join the Coast league but If Portland is ready to put a club In the northern circuit next spring everybodv up in this neck of the woods experts the Northwestern to enjoy a good season. |
