"William Adams, well known in Salt Lake City for many years as a railroad fireman and engineer, died yesterday morning at the family residence, 2.26 North Fifth West street, at the age of 7S years. Mr. Adams was born in Dalston, Cum- , berlandshire, England, In 1S:J9. He came to Utah In 1859 as a member of one of the noted handcart pioneer companies. During his life here ho was active In church work and community affairs of j his residence district. Surviving Mr. Adams are the widow, I Mrs. Mary Marks Adams, and five children chil-dren James M. Adams, Mrs. H. O. Williams. Wil-liams. Mrs. W. H. Grow, Mrs. James Terry. Jr., and William Adams, Jr. There are also fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Bishop William McMillan Mc-Millan of the Twenty-eighth ward is a nephew. Funeral services will be held In tho Sixteenth Six-teenth ward chapel on Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, commencing at 2 o'clock. Bishop Edwin F. Parry prosiding. |
