Interest ha shifted from the local strike situation to the situation In the Globe-Miami district, where the strike is said to be 10U per cent effective. Miners and business men com in? here from Globe and M lami reported re-ported that the feeling between the strikers and operators and the Loyalty league was gradually growing more bitter. They say the I. W. W. movement has been growing in the Globe-Miami district dis-trict and has practically overshadowed the strike called originally by the International Inter-national Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers. Sheriff Harry Wheeler received an official offi-cial communication from the White house, at Washington, in his mail today, but said It was only an acknowledgment of a message he had ent the president regarding the situation here. The work of rounding up the Idle men in the district dis-trict who have not applied for wore was started today by the deputy sheriffs and police. All who will not work are to lie charged with vagrancy and either sent ! out of the district or placed in jail. No j deportations occurred today, but many ap- plicants for work w-cre examined by the j investigation committee. Five men representing the Citizens' Protective league and the Workmen's Loyalty league leave Bisbee tomorrow evening for Phoenix, where they will call on Governor Thomas E. ' Campbell and lay befor$:hlm the facts of the I. W. W. deportations from the Warren district. It Is understood the governor had asked for a detailed statement of the entire affair. Mayor Jacob Eriokson of Bisbee today telegraphed T,ieu tenant Haig Shekerjian. who has charge of the deportation camp at Columbus, that all of the Mexican families here which are in need have been taken care of by the Warren district Relief Re-lief association. This was in answer to a message from the army officer statin that the Mexicans in the Columbus camp were much worried over the status of their families. Mayor Erickson stated tonight that every family would be amply cared for.
