Show Coyote Cavorts for Amusement of Young Pupils Animal Gives No Sign of Rabies, but Seems to Appreciate Ap-preciate His Audience. No story is on record of a coyote having attended school in Salt Lake after the manner of a certain sheep of tender years that is reputed to have followed thence a knobby-kneed ; little girl of the cognomen Mary. j But a coyote is coming near to presenting pre-senting himself for roll call every morning at the Uinta school. With strict regularity he does calisthenics directly in front of the window of Principal Fred D. Keeler, but a few vards distant from the school building. build-ing. Always he appears directly after school is called in the morning. If he cannot be present, he apparently sends one of bis little brothers. One morning the old man of the family himself appeared, to judge from the size, says Principal Keeler. The fact that a coyote was haunting haunt-ing the neighborhood was first noticed by the janitor, who called the attention atten-tion of Principal Keeler to the antics of the creature. Since that time the entire school has become interested and many watchers report the arrival of the coyote each morning. Principal Keeler says that the animal ani-mal shows no symptoms of rabies that he can detect, but rather a playfulness playful-ness that would suggest consciousness of an audience. He capers about and rolls in the snow each morning, much to the delight of the school children. |
