Show GOVERNOR PLEASED WITH FAIR PLANS Coming Meeting Gives Every Promise of Being Greatest in History of Association. At a special meeting of the executive committee of the Utah State Fair association asso-ciation held at the Alta club at noon yesterday a complete report of the plans for this fall's fair was made to Governor Gover-nor William Spry. The governor expressed himself as highly pleased with the ambitious extent ex-tent of the plans, which promise a greater fair than has ever before been conducted in Utah. The surpassing number of livestock entries, the fact that eleven counties have reserved space for horticultural exhibits ex-hibits and the horse racing programme, with more than 100 entries, are all features fea-tures recognized as strong arguments that the lair will be the greatest vet held. Chief of Police J. Parley White was with the committee for a conference on the handling of the crowds at the fair. Direct charge of the work will be given to Captain John J. Roberts, whose experience ex-perience with the fair crowds has extended ex-tended over many years. President J. G. McDonald and Directors Direc-tors W. 0. Winder, .1. B. Langford, Frank J. Hewlett, Charles S. Burton and Secretary Horace S. Ensign were at the meeting. |
