Show SIX STUDENTS WILL ENGAGE IN CONTEST Competition in Public Speaking Is to Take Place This Afternoon at the Emery Dormitory. Si students of the University of Utah will compete this afternoon in the annual University of Utah public speaking speak-ing contest on patriotic subjects which will be held under the auspices of the Sons of tho American Bevolution of the state of Utah. A preliminary contest, was held last week at which the following students were selected to compete in the final: George ilobson, Clarence Baird, )an Boyer, Lawrence Wallace, Hvrum Cart-wright Cart-wright and Miss Mary Watkins. The winner of the contest will be chosen to represent the University of Utah next Friday in the state contest, con-test, iu which the Agricultural college, tho Brigham Young university and the Brigham Young college will be represented. repre-sented. Prizes will be awarded the winners. The annual freshman extemporaneous speaking contest will be held in the near future. A preliminary contest has already been held. and next Wednesday Wednes-day a semi-final contest will lie held in order to still furthor reduce the number num-ber of contestants.
