Garranza forces now occupy Jimenez, Santa Rosalia and Parral, while Villa and his ataff have . fled to the state of Durango over the branch railroad from Parral to El Oro. Government agents here, who have been loath to accept the Carranza reports of i the victory over Villa at Jimenez Friday Fri-day and of Villa's reported retreat to Parral, flnaily admitted today that tho battle of Jimenez ended In a complete repulse re-pulse of the Villa forces, and one high government official said he had information infor-mation which led him to believe that the government forces had won "a sweeping victory over Villa." Victory Confirmed. General Jose Carlos Murgula, commander com-mander of tho Juarez garrison, recedved a message from his brother. General Francisco Fran-cisco Murguia, dated 9 o'clock a, m. today to-day at the military headquarters In Parral. Par-ral. Thl3 message confirmed the occupation occu-pation of Parral by the de facto forces Sunday. The recapture of nine locomotives, locomo-tives, 100 freight cars, a number of Pullman Pull-man cars and other equipment was also confirmed in this message. Government agents announced late today to-day that information had been obtained in Juarez that sixty-seven officers were wounded during the battle of Jimenez and several high officers killed. It was also said thirteen telegraph operators with Villa's command were captured by General Murguia's command and executed exe-cuted with a majority of the 500 prisoners pris-oners taken at Jimenez by the government govern-ment troops. |
