While the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young college baseball aucl track squads are not made up ot stellar atu-letes atu-letes both agfrreKations comprise a group of hard-working lads. -Most ot the. men on both teams are. high schoo students, eager to make a showing, aud can hold their own with any other prep school teams in the state. The baseball base-ball nine at the "V" has but one maa of college rank and the track squad has onlv a few college men. The star racquet" wielders out for the eollefie teams are mostly high school student also. With a large number of high scboo! men working on the track and field.. Coach denson expects to cop the north-j ern division honors of the seholastrc track race this vear. The meet is to be held in Logan this year, a fact -which will give Jenson an opportunity to enter more men in each event than formerly. In the past it has been too expensive to take a large number of men to Og-den. Og-den. where the meet has always been held. This vear the competition ttiI1 be conducted bv the Agricultural college col-lege athletic committee, which is planning plan-ning to give the high school lads a roval reception. Lvle Geddess and Lera Allen are two of Jeuson's best men in the high school division. Geddess is showing -wonderful . development over last year in the sprints and low hurdles. If he improves at the same rate this year, Jenson may enter him in the college meet. Allen in the weights, is showing ability at throwing the shot and hammer. Other men who will help bolster up the high school team are Home, Peder-son. Peder-son. Dunn. Nelson. ' Neelev, Baker, Peterson. Knowles, Owen anil Haws. A handful of college track men rf on hand to work out with the higVt school scpiad. Leading these are Tolman. Tol-man. in the distance runs. Wright, in the sprints. McDonald. iD the weights, Hughes in the quarter mile and Nielsen, in rhe high jump. McDonald is doing effective work with the discus, but Jenson Jen-son is having some difficulty in getting him out to work. The ('"y-'' baseball nine defies all competition with college or high school clubs in the state. With one year's experience, ex-perience, the tossers have developed into a fast nine, and are looking for games with other schools. Tt is a difficult matter mat-ter to arrange any contests, on account of the location of the B. Y. C. a hundred hun-dred miles awav from the center of Ftnh school athletics.
