Show TO ALLOW GRAZING IN NATIONAL PARKS Special to The Tribune. WASHINGTON. April 22. The committee com-mittee on public land1 of the house has been conducting hearings on the enactment enact-ment of a bill creating in the interior department a bureau having charge of the national parks of the countrv, and it is quite probable that an amendment, advocated by Congressman Smith of Idaho, Ida-ho, will be adopted, allowing grazing on the national parks, as follows: Provided that the secretary of the interior may, under such rules and regulations as he may prescribe, grant the privilege to graze livestock live-stock within any national park, monument or reservation herein referred re-ferred to when, in his judgment, such use is not detrimental to the primary purpose for which the reservations reser-vations were created, namely, for the enjoyment of the people and the preservation of the vegetable life and other natural features. |
