Show L. D. S. UNIVERSITY OPENS REGISTRATION Guy C. Wilson Succeeds O. J. P. Widstoe as President of Institution for Present Year. Registration of students of the l. D. 8. university began yesterday and w ll continue today for the opening of th tall term, which takes place next Tuesday. Tues-day. 'The registration wan under the direction direc-tion of several different teachers, and the first day's total had not been turned in to the president's iffiee last evening. It was said, however, that registration reg-istration in the high school dep:' rtmen; had been unusually heavy. Registration in the business college department is separate. The L. D. ?. university opens this year with (iuy ( !, Wilson as presfctont. He comes to the institution from Granite Gran-ite high school. Prior to that he was head of the Juarez academy in Chihuahua, Chi-huahua, Mexico. As president Mr. Wilson succeeds Colonel Willard Young, resigned. This year the offices of president and principal prin-cipal of the school have hern combined, Mr. Wilson looking after the duties of both offices, with the title df nralt'ait. The office of principal was abolished with the resignation of Professor 0. J. P. Widatoe, who left the li D. M. institution in-stitution to become head of the English Eng-lish department of t he T'niversi v of Utah. President Wilson announced that there would be no increase in th" teaching teach-ing force uttdeT his direct ion, but said that, owing to the changes in the faculty fac-ulty since last season some shifting about micrht be an nouncpil shortly. |
